Following the government announcement that we can consider opening church buildings for private prayer, we have spent time looking at risk assessments for our buildings, and the measures that we need to put in place around social distancing and cleaning. I’m pleased to be able to confirm that we will be able to open St Mary’s church in Wroxham for this purpose.
We intend to open the church twice a week, beginning Sunday June 21st from 2pm to 4pm, and then each week on Wednesdays from 10am to 12pm, and Sundays from 2pm to 4pm. Social distancing will be in place and hand sanitiser available. Please follow all guidelines and keep yourselves safe. Volunteers will be on hand to help if needed.
For some this will be a welcome return to a sacred space and we hope you find it helpful.
For some this will be something which brings more fear than joy. Please don’t feel under any obligation to attend until you feel ready.
For some who are still limited in their movements this may bring sadness that they can’t yet attend. Please be patient, and stay safe.
My thanks to those who have helped to get the church ready. I’m adding a couple of pictures, taken by Tracy, to show the kinds of safety measures we have put in place.
Thanks all. If you have any questions, please just ask.
