If last week was confusing with two possible lectionary offerings, today manages to go one better as we have a choice between the last Sunday of Trinity, Dedication Festival, or Bible Sunday. In church we are celebrating Bible Sunday and the readings you will find on the news sheet below are those for this festival.
This week we are meeting in Hoveton St John church, and look forward to seeing many of you there. For those who aren’t able to join us yet, I hope the resources here will be of help. It has been good to see some of you with Home Communion; if any of you who are unable to be in church would like Communion, please just let me know. Revd Liz 01603 784150
The Church of England national service this week comes from Holy Trinity Kendal, where the Bishop of Penrith is joined by people from across Cumbria, including two newly ordained clergy, in a celebration of Bible Sunday. You can find that here
From the Diocese of Norwich we have the Sunday Hope Podcast here
and the Saving Graces podcast here
On the radio there is Sunday Worship on Radio 4 at 08:10, this week from St Martin in the Fields and on BBC One Songs of Praise is at 13.15 this week coming from the International Slavery Museum in Liverpool.
Our news sheet is available for download below, do have a look. There is information about All Souls’ and the first of our plans for what is likely to be a very different Christmas is introduced – more to follow next week.
I hope that you find something here that works for you.
This Sunday offers a choice. We can either use the readings and prayers for the 19th Sunday after Trinity as we are doing in church, or celebrate the feast of St Luke the Evangelist as the National Church of England service is doing here
I was reminded this week of the Daily Hope phone line which offers music, prayers and reflections as well as full worship services from the Church of England at the end of a telephone line. A Church of England initiative in partnership with CONNECTIONS at Holy Trinity Claygate, and Faith in Later Life
The line – which is available 24 hours a day on 0800 804 8044 – has been set up particularly with those unable to join online church services during the period of restrictions in mind.
This might not be needed by those of you who are able to access the internet, but if you know someone for whom it would be helpful, please do share it. We have made it known to those we are aware of who can’t get online, but the more it is shared the better!
Don’t forget that there is also Songs of Praise at 13.15 on BBC One each Sunday, as well as Sunday Worship on Radio 4 at 08.10
The news sheet for this week can be downloaded here
In church this week we have our Harvest Festival, which will be at St Mary’s at 10am. The service sheet contains the readings and prayers and you can download that here, and also the notice sheet for this week.
